< 헐크파운데이션 스텝진 여러분 감사합니다 >
오늘 1월 29일 라오스 루앙프라방에서 기쁜 소식을 전해 주었다. 지난 수년 동안 전국에서 많은 기부자들이 보내준 물품들을 최홍준 부장이 한보따리 들고 라오스 루앙프라방으로 올라갔다. 사진을 보더라도 엄청난 양의 보따리를 혼자서 들기에는 도저히 들 수 없어 조성제 팀장과 함께 루앙프라방으로 올라갔다.
이 많은 물품들을 조경원 단장이 보물 다루듯이 직접 보관했다. 지난 수년 동안 조경원 단장은 사비를 털어 조금이라도 라오스와 베트남 그리고 캄보디아와 인도네시아 및 중국에서 야구하는 선수들이 작으나마 그들에게 보탬을 주기 위해 소중하게 관리하고 있다. 조경원 단장은 수년 동안 물품들을 창고에 보관하면서 일주일에 2 - 3번은 꼭 창고에 들려 습기가 찼는지? 야구 도구와 물품들은 이상은 없는지 오며가며 체크하고 있다.
솔직히 헐크파운데이션 스텝진들이 없었다면 지난 12년 동안 인도차이나반도로 내려가 야구 보급은 어려웠다. 늘 이야기 했지만 이들 스텝진들은 자발적으로 봉사하는 분들이다. 단 한번도 자신을 나타내거나 자랑하지 않는다. 언제나 스텝진들은 묵묵하게 뒤에서 헐크파운데이션이 잘 되기를 응원하는 사람들이다.
헐크파운데이션은 지난 12년 동안 국내를 넘어 해외까지, 야구를 통해 청소년과 청년들에게 꿈과 희망을 전하는 일을 매년 쉼 없이 이어가고 있다. 올해만 해도 벌써 1월부터 헐크파운데이션 스텝진들은 자발적으로 라오스로 들어가 김한근 감독과 손사랑 코치가 선수들을 지도하는데 필요한 것은 없는지 또 필드에서 열심히 땀흘려 운동하는 선수들이 필요한 것은 없는지? 직접 찾아가 그들의 고통을 들어보는 시간을 가졌다.
이번에도 자비로 최홍준 부장과 조성제 팀장이 먼 라오스 루앙프라방까지 올라갔다. 앞에서도 이야기 했지만 모든 스텝진들은 자원봉사자로서 헌신하며, 이번에도 수많은 청소년과 유소년을 위해 각자의 일정을 비우고 먼 길을 달려갔다.
헐크파운데이션 대외협력부 최홍준 부장은 수많은 직책을 소화하고 있다. 캄보디아야구협회 심판위원장, 한국티볼연맹 국제이사, 경기도야구소프트볼협회 대회협력담당관을 맡고 있으며, 해외에 나가면 경기운영위원장, 심판위원장, 코디네이터까지 1인 3역을 감당한다.
최홍준 부장과 조성제 팀장은 늘 겸손하게 자신을 ‘선출도 아닌 일반인’이라 표현하지만, 오히려 그 점이 이들의 시야와 감각을 더욱 넓게 만들었다. 지금도 이들은 야구와 관련된 해외 교류의 가능성이 무한하다며 눈을 반짝인다.
캄보디아와 인도네시아 야구가 잘 발전할 수 있었던 것도 조경원 단장을 위시해 모든 스텝진들 노력 덕분이다.
앞으로도 헐크파운데이션 스텝들은 인도차이나반도와 동남아 지역을 중심으로 헌신을 멈추지 않을 것이다. 그들의 야구에 대한 사랑과 노고에, 한 사람의 야구인으로서 깊은 감사를 전한다.

Today, January 29th, brought joyful news from Luang Prabang, Laos. Over the past several years, Director Choi Hong-jun carried a large bundle of goods sent by many donors nationwide up to Luang Prabang, Laos. As seen in the photos, the sheer volume of bundles was impossible for one person to carry alone, so he went up to Luang Prabang with Team Leader Cho Sung-je.
Director Cho Kyung-won personally stored all these goods as if they were treasures. For years, Team Leader Jo Gyeong-won has personally managed these items, using his own funds to provide even a small measure of support to baseball players in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and China. Team Leader Jo Gyeong-won has stored the items in a warehouse for years, visiting the warehouse 2-3 times a week to check if moisture had accumulated? He checks whether the baseball equipment and supplies are in good condition whenever he passes by.
Honestly, without the Hulk Foundation staff, promoting baseball in the Indochina Peninsula over the past 12 years would have been difficult. As I've always said, these staff members are volunteers. They never seek recognition or boast about themselves. They are the people who silently cheer for Hulk Foundation's success from behind the scenes.
For the past 12 years, Hulk Foundation has relentlessly continued its mission year after year, spreading dreams and hope to youth and young adults through baseball, both domestically and internationally. This year alone, starting in January, Hulk Foundation staff voluntarily traveled to Laos. They personally visited to see if Manager Kim Han-geun and Coach Son Sa-rang needed anything to guide the players, and if the athletes sweating hard on the field needed anything. They took the time to listen to their struggles.
This time, Director Choi Hong-jun and Team Leader Jo Seong-je also traveled at their own expense to the distant city of Luang Prabang in Laos. As mentioned earlier, all staff members dedicate themselves as volunteers, and this time too, they cleared their schedules and made the long journey for the sake of countless youth and young players.
Choi Hong-jun, Director of External Cooperation at the Hulk Foundation, juggles numerous roles. He serves as the Umpire Committee Chairman for the Cambodia Baseball Association, International Director for the Korea T-ball Federation, and Competition Cooperation Officer for the Gyeonggi Province Baseball Softball Association. When overseas, he often takes on three roles simultaneously: Competition Operations Chairman, Umpire Committee Chairman, and Coordinator.
Though Director Choi Hong-jun and Team Leader Cho Sung-je consistently describe themselves modestly as “ordinary people, not elected officials,” this very perspective has broadened their vision and sensibilities. Even now, their eyes sparkle as they speak of the limitless potential for international baseball exchanges.
The successful development of baseball in Cambodia and Indonesia was also thanks to the efforts of all the staff, led by Team Manager Cho Kyung-won.
Going forward, the Hulk Foundation staff will continue their dedication, focusing on the Indochina Peninsula and Southeast Asia. As a fellow baseball person, I express my deepest gratitude for their love of the game and their hard work.
