< 추억은 아름다운 것 >
황금연휴 첫날 아침에 나를 아끼고 사랑하는 팬으로부터 멋진 동영상 하나가 날라왔다. 이번 동영상은 삼성라이온즈 팀이 1993년 2월 일본 노베오카에서 전지훈련 모습의 영상을 보내주었다. 지금으로부터 33년 전의 영상이다.
이때만 해도 삼성라이온즈 선수들 이름만 대어도 한국을 대표하는 선수들이 수두룩 했던 시절이다. 비록 많은 세월이 흘렀지만 함께 웃고 함께 울었던 선,후배들과 땀 흘리며 훈련했던 시절이 벌써 33년이란 세월이 지났다.
나를 아끼는 팬이 보내준 영상이 궁금해 그자리에서 열어 보았더니 삼성라이온즈 선수 시절인 1993년 2월달에 일본으로 전지훈련 가서 찍은 영상이었다. 지금으로부터 33년이 훌쩍 지난 너무나 귀한 영상이다.
영상을 보며 그리워했던 선,후배들의 모습을 보니 마음이 뭉클해진다. 비록 많은 세월이 흘렀지만 여전히 함께 웃고 함께 울었던 선,후배들과 땀 흘리며 훈련했던 시절이 그립구나. 일흔을 바라보는 나이가 되었지만 여전히 그 시절이 그립고 다시 되돌아 가고 싶은 마음이다.
많은 시간이 흘렀지만 지금도 전국에서 나를 아끼고 사랑하는 팬들이나 지인들이 예전 삼성라이온즈 시절에 경기했던 사진들과 영상을 보내 줄 때면 소중하게 간직하고 있다. 앞에서도 이야기 했지만 비록 많은 시간이 흘렀지만 팬들과 지인들이 보내준 옛 추억들의 영상을 보며 옛날 삼성라이온즈 선수시절의 많은 사연과 추억들을 기억하며 오늘도 깊은 내면에서 삼성라이온즈 시절에 활동했던 기억들을 끄집어 내며 따뜻한 커피 한잔을 마시며 옛 추억에 잠긴다.
시간이 많이 흐를수록 그리움이 커지거나 감정이 깊어지는 것은 어쩔 수 없는 것 같구나.
< Memories Are Beautiful >
On the morning of the first day of the Golden Week holiday, a wonderful video arrived from a fan who cherishes and loves me. This video showed the Samsung Lions team during their training camp in Nobeoka, Japan, in February 1993. It's footage from 33 years ago.
Back then, just mentioning the names of the Samsung Lions players brought to mind a host of athletes who represented Korea. Though many years have passed, the time spent training together, sweating and sharing laughter and tears with teammates and seniors, has already spanned 33 years.
Curious about the video sent by a fan who cares for me, I opened it right then. It was footage from February 1993, when I was a Samsung Lions player, filmed during our training camp in Japan. It's incredibly precious footage, now over 33 years old.
Watching the video and seeing the faces of seniors and juniors I miss brings a lump to my throat. Though many years have passed, I still miss those seniors and juniors with whom I laughed and cried together, and the days we sweated through training. Even as I approach seventy, I still long for those times and wish I could go back.
Much time has passed, but even now, when fans and acquaintances who cherish and love me from across the country send me photos and videos from my Samsung Lions days, I treasure them dearly. As I mentioned before, even though much time has passed, watching the old videos sent by fans and acquaintances brings back many stories and memories from my days as a Samsung Lions player. Today, too, I pull those memories from deep within, sipping a warm cup of coffee and sinking into nostalgia.
It seems inevitable that as time passes, the longing grows stronger and the emotions deepen.
