8월 11일은 특별한 날이다.
부산에서는 헐크파운데이션 조경원 단장이 기차를 타고, 서울과 강원 철원에서는 최홍준 부장과 조성제 팀장이, 나는 인천에서 직접 운전해 홍천으로 향한다.

이 모임은 작년 헐크파운데이션 박상수 감독이 “홍천에서 유소년 야구대회를 열어주면 좋겠다”는 제안을 한 데서 시작됐다. 이날, 그 뜻을 실현하기 위해 우리는 홍천군 체육회장을 직접 만나러 간다.

헐크파운데이션은 국내를 넘어 해외까지, 야구를 통해 청소년과 청년들에게 꿈과 희망을 전하는 일을 매년 쉼 없이 이어가고 있다. 올해만 해도 인도네시아와 베트남에서 활발히 활동 중이다. 모든 스텝진들은 자원봉사자로서 헌신하며, 이번에도 수많은 청소년과 유소년을 위해 각자의 일정을 비우고 먼 길을 달려왔다.

오후 2시, 홍천 야구장 체육시설에서 우리는 헐크파운데이션의 비전과 프로젝트를 홍천군 체육회장과 허심탄회하게 나눌 예정이다.

홍천에 거주하는 ‘양지말화로구이’ 전명준 대표는 몇 년 전부터 이곳에서 유소년 야구대회를 유치하자고 여러 차례 제안해 왔다. 오래된 친분 덕에, 그가 홍천을 향한 깊은 애정을 품고 있다는 것을 잘 안다. 박상수 감독 역시 오래전부터 시설이 좋은 홍천에서 유소년 대회를 열길 바랐고, 이번 만남이 그 염원을 구체화시키고 있다.

전명준 대표는 홍천군을 살기 좋은 도시로 만들기 위해 계절마다 다양한 행사를 열고 있다. 홍천군에서도 유소년 전국대회의 경제적·문화적 파급력을 잘 알기에 이번 프로젝트에 큰 관심을 두고 있다.

이번 헐크파운데이션과 홍천군의 만남이, 아이들의 꿈을 키우고 지역의 미래를 밝히는 새로운 역사의 시작이 되기를 기대한다.

August 11 is a special day.
In Busan, the head of Hulk Foundation Cho Kyung-won takes a train, and in Seoul and Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, Choi Hong-joon and Cho Seong-je, head of the team, drive directly from Incheon to Hongcheon.

The meeting began last year with Hulk Foundation coach Park Sang-soo's proposal to hold a youth baseball tournament in Hongcheon. On this day, we are going to meet Hongcheon-gun sports president in person to realize that intention.

The Hulk Foundation continues to deliver dreams and hopes to teenagers and young people through baseball every year beyond Korea. This year alone, they are active in Indonesia and Vietnam. All the staff members are dedicated as volunteers, and this time, they have gone a long way, emptying their schedules for numerous teenagers and young people.

At 2 p.m., at the Hongcheon Baseball Stadium sports facility, we will openly share the vision and project of the Hulk Foundation with the chairman of the Hongcheon-gun Sports Council.

Jeon Myung-joon, the CEO of Yangmalhwa-rogui in Hongcheon, has been proposing several times for several years to host a youth baseball tournament here. Due to his long-standing friendship, he knows well that he has a deep affection for Hongcheon. Coach Park Sang-soo has also long hoped to hold a youth tournament in Hongcheon, which has good facilities, and this meeting is embodying that desire.

CEO Jeon Myung-joon holds various seasonal events to make Hongcheon-gun a good city to live in. Hongcheon-gun is also very interested in this project because it knows the economic and cultural impact of the youth national competition.

It is hoped that the meeting between the Hulk Foundation and Hongcheon-gun will be the beginning of a new history that fosters children's dreams and reveals the future of the region.
