그라운드는 단순한 운동장이 아니다. 젊은 세대가 꿈을 꾸고, 팀이 만들어지고, 세상과 연결되는 첫 번째 무대다. 그렇기에 지금의 베트남에는 ‘제대로 된 야구장’이 꼭 필요하다. 단단한 흙과 바른 라인, 안전한 공간은 단지 시설의 문제가 아니라, 야구를 꿈꾸는 이들에게 보내는 존중의 표현이다.

이 생각을 구체적인 방향으로 이끌어준 분들이 있다. 언제나 열린 시선과 깊은 통찰로 문화와 스포츠가 함께 자랄 수 있는 길을 보여주신 최승진 한국문화원장님. 그는 베트남 야구의 성장에 있어 가장 든든한 동반자이자, 항상 아이디어와 실행력을 함께 갖춘 분이다. 그의 지원과 조언이 있었기에 베트남 야구의 내일을 이야기할 수 있었다.

그리고 이용득 VTC온라인 대표님. 오랜 시간 베트남의 문화와 교육을 위해 헌신하며 양국 간의 교류를 실질적으로 이어온 분이다. 특히 지난 16일, 최승진 원장님의 제안으로직접 만나 뜻깊은 미팅을 가졌다. 짧은 시간이었지만, 그 자리에서 베트남 야구의 현실과 미래를 함께 논의하며 이 프로젝트가 단순한 구상이 아닌 현실적인 협력의 첫걸음으로 이어질 수 있음을 느꼈다. 그의 경험과 진심은 이 길에 따뜻한 힘을 더해주고 있다.

며칠 전, 하노이 한국금융기관협의회 초청 강연 자리에서 조심스럽게 베트남 야구장 건립 이야기를 꺼냈다. 이것은 결코 개인의 꿈이 아니라, 현장에서 본 현실에 대한 책임 있는 제안이었다. 또한, 베트남 정부가 스포츠 인재 양성을 위한 부지 선정에 적극적으로 관심을 가져주길 바란다. 이 일은 누구 한 사람의 힘으로 이룰 수는 없지만, 함께라면 충분히 가능하다고 믿는다.

야구는 언제나 희망의 스포츠였다. 하늘로 날아오르는 공처럼, 누군가의 꿈도 그렇게 멀리 닿을 수 있다고 믿는다. 우려를 희망으로 바꿀 수 있다면, 이 이야기는 결코 먼 미래가 아니다.

언젠가 베트남의 푸른 하늘 아래, 햇살을 품은 야구장이 세워질 것이다. 그라운드 위에서는 선수들이 웃으며 공을 던지고, 그들의 웃음이 관중석의 바람이 되고, 그 바람은 다시 하늘로 퍼져나가 이 나라의 젊은 세대에게 꿈의 노래가 되어 울릴 것이다. 그날, 베트남의 야구장은 단지 운동장이 아니라 희망이 노래하는 무대가 될 것이다.

For four years, I watched the Korea Ambassador's Cup National Tournament held across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The players' eyes on the field burned with intensity, and even harsh conditions couldn't dampen their passion. Seeing them throw themselves into the game on makeshift fields or converted soccer pitches moved me deeply as a baseball person, yet a weight settled in my heart.

The field is not just a playground. It is the first stage where the younger generation dreams, teams are formed, and connections to the world are made. That is why Vietnam desperately needs a ‘proper baseball field’ now. Solid dirt, straight lines, and a safe space are not merely facility issues; they are expressions of respect for those dreaming of baseball.

There are individuals who have guided this vision into concrete direction. Mr. Choi Seung-jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, who has always shown us the path where culture and sports can grow together with an open mind and deep insight. He is the most steadfast partner in the growth of Vietnamese baseball, someone who consistently brings both ideas and the drive to execute them. It was thanks to his support and advice that we could discuss the future of Vietnamese baseball.

And Mr. Lee Yong-deuk, CEO of VTC Online. He has long dedicated himself to Vietnam's culture and education, tangibly fostering exchanges between our two nations. Notably, on the 16th, following Director Choi Seung-jin's suggestion, we met directly for a meaningful discussion. Though brief, we discussed the reality and future of Vietnamese baseball, sensing this project could evolve from mere concept into the first step of tangible cooperation. His experience and sincerity add warm strength to this journey.

A few days ago, at a lecture hosted by the Hanoi Korean Financial Institutions Council, I cautiously brought up the idea of building a baseball stadium in Vietnam. This was never a personal dream, but a responsible proposal born from witnessing the reality on the ground. I also hope the Vietnamese government will actively consider selecting a site for nurturing sports talent. This is not something one person can achieve alone, but I firmly believe it is entirely possible together.

Baseball has always been a sport of hope. Just as a ball soars skyward, I believe someone's dream can reach that far too. If we can turn worry into hope, this story is not a distant future.

Someday, under Vietnam's blue skies, a baseball stadium embracing the sunlight will be built. On that field, players will laugh as they throw the ball. Their laughter will become the wind in the stands, and that wind will spread back into the sky, becoming a song of dreams echoing for this nation's young generation. On that day, Vietnam's baseball field will be more than just a playing field—it will be a stage where hope sings.
