어제 10월 20일, 서울올림픽파크텔에서 ‘2025 드림투게더 서울포럼(Dream Together Seoul Forum 2025)’이 열렸다. 귀국한 지 하루도 채 지나지 않았지만, 이번 행사만큼은 꼭 함께해야 한다는 생각으로 곧바로 서울로 향했다. 이번 포럼에서 인도네시아의 우그라세나(Ugrasena)가 우리의 공동 프로젝트 ‘A New Inning: Hulk Indonesia Youth Baseball Camp’로 성과 발표를 하는 날이었기 때문이다.

‘드림투게더 서울포럼’은 국민체육진흥공단(KSPO)이 주최하고 문화체육관광부(MCST)가 후원하는 대한민국 대표 국제 스포츠 포럼으로, 서울대학교의 드림투게더 마스터(Dream Together Master, DTM) 프로그램과 함께 세계 각국의 스포츠 리더들이 모여 스포츠를 통한 사회적 가치와 지속가능한 발전을 논의하는 자리다.

올해의 주제는 “국제 스포츠 이벤트를 통한 지속가능한 성장”. 숙명여대 최동주 교수, 말레이시아 국가스포츠위원회 Mohd Sofian bin Hamzah 부국장, 유네스코 국제무예센터의 조성식 선임전문관이 주제 발표를 맡았고, 이어 DTM 졸업생인 우그라세나(Ugrasena)가 프로젝트를 발표했다.

우그라세나는 인도네시아 청소년 야구 생태계의 붕괴를 막기 위해 헐크파운데이션과 협력해 ‘Hulk Indonesia Youth Baseball Camp’를 기획·운영했다.

이 프로그램은 청소년과 여성, 유소년 지도자를 아우르며 야구를 통한 리더십·조직력·협동의 가치를 키우는 데 집중했다. 특히 한국과 인도네시아의 코칭 시스템을 접목시켜 K-스포츠의 교육적 모델을 실제로 구현한 사례로 주목받았다.

포럼이 끝난 뒤, 인도네시아에서 함께하며 헌신한 김세훈 고양시야구협회장, 그리고 처음 인도네시아 야구장에서 우그라세나를 만나 이 프로젝트의 씨앗을 함께 심었던 최홍준 부장도 함께 자리했다.

스포츠가 사람을 변화시키는 순간을 누구보다 잘 이해하는 최부장은 이 프로젝트가 오늘의 무대까지 오를 수 있었던 든든한 힘이었다. 우리는 서로의 노고를 축하하며, 작은 시작이 어떻게 큰 울림으로 자라날 수 있는지를 확인했다.

이 자리에서 우리는 향후 양국 간의 청소년 야구 아카데미 교류와 전지훈련 캠프를 정례화하기로 뜻을 모았다. 그 약속 속에는 단순한 스포츠 협력 이상의 의미가 있었다 — 스포츠를 통해 성장하고, 연결되고, 미래를 함께 만들어가는 일.

‘드림투게더 서울포럼’은 그 이름처럼 국경과 종목, 언어를 넘어 ‘함께 꿈꾸는 사람들’이 모이는 자리였다. 스포츠를 통해 세상을 바꾸겠다는 그들의 신념은 학문과 정책, 그리고 현장의 이야기가 한 무대 위에서 어우러지는 진정한 글로벌 포럼의 의미를 보여주었다.

행사가 끝나고 돌아오는 길, 우그라세나의 발표 장면이 오래 남았다. 한 사람의 열정이, 한 나라의 스포츠 문화를 바꾸는 시작이 될 수 있다는 것을 눈앞에서 확인한 순간이었다.

그의 무대는 단순한 발표가 아니라, 함께 만들어 온 시간의 결과였다. 우리가 흘린 땀과 대화, 그리고 믿음이 쌓여 이제는 서로를 이해하는 힘이 되었다. 이제 새로운 마음으로 이 역사를 이어 나가보자.

스포츠는 기록보다 관계를 남기고, 경기를 넘어 마음을 움직인다.

Yesterday, on October 20, the "2025 Dream Together Seoul Forum 2025" was held at the Seoul Olympic Parktel. It has been less than a day since I returned home, but I headed straight to Seoul with the thought that I must be with you at this event. This is because it was the day when Indonesia's Ugrasena announced the achievements with our joint project "A New Inning: Hulk Indonesia Youth Baseball Camp."

The "Dream Together Seoul Forum" is Korea's representative international sports forum hosted by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), where sports leaders from all over the world gather to discuss social values and sustainable development through sports along with Seoul National University's Dream Together Master (DTM) program.

This year's theme is "Sustainable Growth through International Sports Events." Professor Dong-ju Choi of Sookmyung Women's University, Deputy Director Mohd Sofian bin Hamzah of Malaysia's National Sports Council, and Senior Specialist Cho Seong-sik of UNESCO's International Martial Arts Center were in charge of presenting the topic, followed by Ugrasena, a DTM graduate, who announced the project.

In order to prevent the collapse of Indonesia's youth baseball ecosystem, Ugrazena planned and operated the Hulk Indonesia Youth Baseball Camp in cooperation with the Hulk Foundation.

This program focused on cultivating the value of leadership, organizational power, and cooperation through baseball, encompassing youth, women, and youth leaders. In particular, it attracted attention as an example of realizing the educational model of K-sports by incorporating the coaching system of Korea and Indonesia.

After the forum, Kim Se-hoon, president of the Goyang Baseball Association, who worked with and devoted himself in Indonesia, and Choi Hong-joon, who first met Ugrasena at an Indonesian baseball stadium and planted the seeds of the project together, were also present.

Choi, who understands the moment when sports change people better than anyone else, was a strong force for this project to go up to today's stage. We congratulated each other on their hard work and confirmed how a small start can grow into a big resonance.

Here, we agreed to hold regular exchanges of youth baseball academies and field training camps between the two countries in the future. The promise was more than just sports cooperation: growing, connecting, and building a future together through sports.

Like its name, the "Dream Together Seoul Forum" was a gathering place for "dreamers together" across borders, sports, and language. Their belief to change the world through sports showed the meaning of a true global forum where academics, policies, and stories from the field are harmonized on one stage.

On the way back from the event, the scene of Ugrazena's presentation remains for a long time. It was the moment when I confirmed before my eyes that a person's passion could be the beginning of changing a country's sports culture.

His stage was not just a presentation, but a result of the time we have been making together. The sweat, conversation, and faith we shed have accumulated, and now it is a force to understand each other. Now, let's continue this history with a new mind.

Sports leave relationships rather than records, and move the mind beyond the game.
