K - 코칭으로 '베트남 야구' 유망주 키운다.

베트남에서 '야구'는 아직 낯선 스포츠지만 그 열정만큼은 뜨겁습니다. 박항서 감독에 이어 김상식 감독이 베트남 축구 역사에 이정표를 기록했는데요. 야구도 한국인 감독의 지도 아래 꿈을 키우는 아이들이 있습니다. 미래 야구 스타를 양성하는 현장에 이지은 글로벌 국민기자가 다녀왔습니다.

훈련 시작 두 시간 전, 가장 먼저 훈련장에 나와 장비를 점검하고 있는 박효철 감독. 베트남 야구 국가대표팀을 이끌며, 유소년 선수 육성에도 힘을 쏟고 있습니다.

"학교와 가정·사회에서 참된 리더로 성장 시킬 수 있는 기본적인 사고방식, 그리고 이 부분들을 자연스럽게 배우는 야구 프로그램입니다. 당장 눈앞에 있는 것보다 크고 멀리, 넓게 볼 수 있는 그런 학생과 성인이 되고 베트남 사람이 되었으면 좋겠다는 바람으로 프로그램을 진행하고 있습니다."

박 감독이 이끄는 유소년 야구팀은 2024년 시작돼 30여 명 선수들이 참여하고 있습니다.돌핀 레드와 돌핀 네이비 두 팀으로 운영되고 있습니다. 체력 훈련부터 기본기까지, 하나하나 꼼꼼한 박 감독의 지도가 이어집니다.

베트남 야구는 변화가 시작되고 있는데요.
2023년에는 세계 야구 소프트볼 연맹에 정식 등록되었고, 오는 12월 태국에서 개최되는 SEA 게임에 출전권을 확보했습니다.

유소년 선수들의 훈련 열기가 뜨겁습니다.
야구를 배우는 선수들의 열정은 단순히 취미를 넘어 미래의 꿈을 키워가고 있습니다.

야구를 배우는 유소년 선수들의 모습이 달라지고 있는데요. 학부모들 역시 이러한 선수들의 변화 실감하고 있습니다.

"체력을 단련할 뿐만 아니라 새로운 스포츠를 배우며 즐거운 시간 보내고 있어서 우리 가족도 매우 만족하고 있습니다. 야구를 하면서 인내심을 기르고 타격 기술뿐만 아니라 규칙을 지키는 습관까지 배우게 되었어요. 그런 점이 우리 아이에게 큰 도움이 되었습니다."

"코치님의 지도 방식은 매우 체계적이고 전문적입니다. 경기 전 준비 운동부터 훈련 과정 하나하나 체계적으로 진행되며 훈련이 끝난 후에도 철저하게 관리됩니다. 장기적으로는 아이들이 국가대표 선수가 되어 SEA게임 등에서도 활약할 수 있기를 기대합니다."

한국과 베트남의 스포츠 교류의 일환으로 시작된 유소년 야구 프로그램은 박 감독에게도 큰 의미로 다가옵니다.

오는 7월에는 한국과 베트남 국가대표팀이 합동훈련을 진행하고 호치민에서는 '한국 대사배 야구대회'도 열릴 예정입니다.

< K - Baseball fosters Vietnamese prospects>

K - Raise 'Vietnam Baseball' prospects through coaching.

"Baseball" is still an unfamiliar sport in Vietnam, but its passion is hot. Following Park Hang-seo, Kim Sang-sik marked a milestone in the history of Vietnamese soccer. Baseball also has children who grow their dreams under the guidance of a Korean coach. Lee Ji-eun, a global national reporter, visited the site to train future baseball stars.

Coach Park Hyo-chul, who is the first one to come to the training site to check his equipment two hours before the start of training. He is leading the Vietnamese national baseball team and is also focusing his efforts on fostering young players.

I am conducting the program with the hope that I can become an adult and become a Vietnamese with a student who can see bigger, farther, and wider than what is in front of me."

The youth baseball team led by head coach Park began in 2024 and has about 30 players participating. It is operated by two teams, Dolphin Red and Dolphin Navy. From physical training to basic skills, coach Park's meticulous guidance continues one by one.

Vietnamese baseball is beginning to change.In 2023, he was officially registered in the World Baseball Softball Federation and secured a berth for the upcoming SEA games in Thailand in December.

The training of youth players is hot.The passion of players learning baseball is not just a hobby but a dream of the future.

The youth baseball program, which began as part of sports exchanges between Korea and Vietnam, also means a lot to coach Park.
