< 최정 선수 500호 홈런 축하합니다 >

최정 선수가 드디어 오늘 13일 인천 SSG랜더스필드에서 열린 NC 다이노스 팀과의 경기에서 모두가 기대했던 개인 통산 500호 홈런을 터트려 대한민국프로야구 역대 개인 통산 최다 홈런 기록을 보유하게 되었다.

이날 13일 최정 선수는 인천 SSG랜더스필드에서 열린 '2025 신한은행 SOL Bank KBO리그'에서 6회말 2사 1루 상황에서 NC 다이노스 선발투수인 라일리 톰슨 투수를 상대로 시속 135km 슬라이더를 걷어올려 동점 투런홈런을 터뜨리며 마침내 개인통산 500호 홈런을 달성했다.

2025년 기준으로 500홈런 이상 타자는 메이저리그와 일본 대만 모두 합쳐 36명 밖에 되지 않는다. 거기에 최정 선수가 오늘 500호 홈런으로 인해 동,서양 모두 합쳐 37명이 되었다. 미국 메이저리그 28명 일본프로야구에 8명 대한민국프로야구에는 최정 선수가 최초로 오늘 위대한 기록인 500호 홈런을 보유하게 되었다.

최정 선수가 여기서 멈추지 말고 600개의 홈런에도 도전하는 선수가 되길 바래 본다. 600홈런의 경우 미국 메이저리그에 9명 밖에 없을 정도다. 거기에 비해 일본프로야구에는 우리나라 보다 50년이나 앞선 프로야구에서 2명 뿐이다. 기록은 깨지기 위해 있는 것이다. 앞으로 더 많은 젊은 선수들이 나와 대한민국프로야구에도 500개 600개 타자들이 나오길 야구인 선배로서 기대해 본다.

최정 선수는 2005년 SK와이번스 팀에 입단했다. 올해가 최정선수 프로야구 데뷔 21년차인 최정 선수는 성실함과 꾸준함으로 역대 최다 홈런왕으로 등극 되었다. 거기다가 한국야구사에 기념비적인 대 기록을 세운 명실상부 대한민국 최고의 선수가 되었다.

최정선수가 타자로서 가장 큰 장점을 뽑으라고 한다면 단연 볼을 무서워하지 않는다는 점이다. 최정선수가 또하나 기록을 갖고 있는 것이 몸에 맞는 볼이다. 2024년 시즌 중간까지 사구가 무려 330개가 넘는 기록은 세계 전무후무한 기록이다.

이것은 무엇을 말하느냐? 하면 볼을 두려워하지 않고 피하지 않는다는 이야기다. 사구를 여러번 맞게 되면 자신도 모르게 볼을 무서워하게 되고 볼을 피하게 된다. 이것을 누구보다 잘 알고 있는 투수들이 까다로운 타자나 강한 타자가 나오면 위협구를 몸쪽으로 한 두개 던질 때가 있다.

나 또한 현역시절 가장 많이 사구를 맞아 보았기 때문에 빠른볼이 몸쪽으로 날라오면 나도 모르는 사이 엉덩이가 뒤쪽으로 빠지는 것을 보게 된다. 그리고 타자가 가장 중요하게 생각하는 것이 오른쪽 타자일 경우 '타격하기 위해 스트라이드 하는데 왼발이 저절로 평소와 달리 조금 오픈 되는 것을 보게 된다.' 이렇게 몇번 타격하게 되다보면 자신도 모르게 타격 슬럼프 오는 것을 보게 된다.

그런데 최정선수는 타자로서 가장 중요하게 생각하는 이런 모습을 선수생활 21년 동안  보이지 않았기 때문에 꾸준하게 대 기록을 세울 수 있었던 것이다. 사구는 짧은 순간에 날라오는 0.4 안에 모든 타자들에게 엄청난 공포심을 갖게 한다. 그런 공포심을 이겨낸 최정선수의 멘탈이 얼마나 대단하고 강한지 다시 한번 우리들에게 보여준 대표적인 선수다.

그리고 또 하나의 장점이라고 한다면 최정선수의 타격하고 나서의 팔로우 스윙이다. 그의 팔로우 스윙 장면들을 볼 때면 하나의 예술품을 보는듯하다. 최정선수가 타격하고 나서 그의 팔로우 스윙을 보면 모든 사람들이 저절로 탄성이 나올 정도로 멋지고 아름답다.

마지막으로 그의 장점을 또하나 이야기 한다면 타격하는 순간 전형적인 레벨스윙을 갖고 있다. 맞는 순간 뱃이 양손보다 밑으로 가 있다. 타격하는 순간 뱃이 자기 몸에서 가장 짧고 빠르게 나오면서 맞는 순간 볼을 끌고 가는 길이가 다른 선수들보다 조금 긴 편이다.

앞에서도 이야기 했지만 최정선수의 최대 장점이라면 팔로우 스윙할 때 뱃이 왼쪽어깨 밑으로 간적이 없다. 최정선수의 타격 끝 마무리를 보면 타격하고 나서 배트가 왼쪽 어깨 위로 올라가 있다.

최정선수를 볼 때면 언제나 차분한 성격을 갖고 있다. 나처럼 다혈질 적이지 않고 언제나 냉정하고 차분한 성격을 갖고 있어 어떤 분위기에서도 흥분하지 않는 장점을 갖고 있는 선수다.

미련할 정도로 자신의 감정을 잘 표현하지 않는 성실하고 노력하는 선수다. 그의 성실함과 노력 그리고 체력을 보면 앞으로 더 많은 홈런도 충분히 이루어 질 것이라 기대해 본다.

다시 한번 500호 홈런 대한민국프로야구사에 최고의 기록을 세운 최정 선수에게 진심으로 축하를 드린다. 화이팅........


< Choi Jeong, congratulations on your 500th home run>

Choi Jung finally hit his 500th career home run against the NC Dinos team at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on the 13th, setting the record for the most home runs in Korean professional baseball history.

On the 13th, Choi Jung finally achieved his 500th personal home run in total by kicking a 135km/h slider against NC Dinos starter Riley Thompson in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs and a runner on the first base at the "2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League" held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon.

As of 2025, there are only 36 batters in both Major League Baseball and Japan and Taiwan with 500 home runs or more. On top of that, Choi Jeong's 500th home run today brought the total number of 37 in both East and West. Twenty-eight players in the U.S. Major League Baseball, eight in the Japanese professional baseball league, Choi Jeong will have his 500th home run, which is the first great record today in Korean professional baseball.

I hope Choi Jung will not stop here and become a player who challenges 600 home runs. In the case of 600 home runs, there are only nine players in the U.S. Major League Baseball. On the other hand, there are only two players in Japanese professional baseball, 50 years ahead of Korea. The record is to be broken. As a senior baseball player, I look forward to seeing more young players and 500 or 600 batters in the Korean professional baseball league.

Choi joined the SK Wyverns in 2005. This year, in his 21st year since his debut in the professional baseball league, Choi has become the home run king of all time with his diligence and consistency. In addition, he has become the best player in Korea to set a monumental record in Korean baseball history.

If Choi Jung-soo is asked to pick the biggest advantage as a batter, he is by far not afraid of balls. Another record that Choi Jung has is a fit ball. By the middle of the 2024 season, the record of more than 330 dunes is unprecedented in the world.

What does this mean? He means that he is not afraid of the ball and does not avoid it. If he is hit with multiple dunes, he or she becomes afraid of the ball without realizing it and avoids it. Sometimes pitchers who know this better than anyone else throw one or two threatening balls toward their bodies when a tricky hitter or a strong hitter comes out.

I've also been hit by dunes the most during my active days, so when a fast ball flies toward my body, I see my buttocks fall backward without even realizing it. And if the batter is the right batter, the most important thing is, "I'm striding to hit, but I see my left foot open a little bit, unlike usual." If you hit a few times like this, you will see a hitting slump without realizing it.

However, Choi Jeong was able to consistently set a great record because he had not shown this image, which he considers the most important as a batter, in his 21 years as a player. Dune gives all batters great fear within a short moment of 0.4. He is a representative player who once again showed us how great and strong Choi Jeong's mental strength is after overcoming such fear.

Another advantage is Choi Jung's follow swing after hitting. When I see his follow swing scenes, I think I see an artwork. When I see Choi Jung's follow swing after hitting, it is so cool and beautiful that everyone naturally exclaims.

Lastly, if I were to talk about another good thing about him, he has a typical level swing as soon as he hits the ball. The moment he hits, the boat is lower than both hands. Whenever I see Choi Jeong, I always have a calm personality. He is not as hot-tempered as I am and has a cold and calm personality, so he does not get excited in any atmosphere.

He is a sincere and hard-working player who does not express his feelings well enough to be stupid. Looking at his sincerity, effort and physical strength, I expect more home runs to be made in the future.
