지난 4월 말, 아내의 큰 수술로 인해 ‘헐크파운데이션’과 애경케미칼 간의 후원금 전달식에 직접 참석하지 못했다. 대신 조경원 단장, 최홍준 부장, 조성제 팀장이 현장을 함께해 주었다. 이날 전달식은 애경케미칼 표경원 대표가 베트남 야구 발전을 위한 그룹 차원의 후원 의지를 담아 마련한 자리였다.

표경원 대표는 야구에 대한 깊은 애정과 함께, 오래전부터 개인적인 친분을 이어온 분이다. 애경케미칼은 이미 베트남 시장에 진출해 있으며, 그동안 베트남 야구 활성화를 위해 헐크파운데이션과 함께 지속적으로 힘을 보태왔다. 특히 2022년부터는 현지 야구 저변 확대를 위한 활동에 적극 참여하고 있다.

지난 5월 15일, 표 대표와 김앤장의 이춘수 변호사와 함께 한 만남에서는 향후 다양한 프로젝트에 대한 논의도 이뤄졌다. 이 자리에서 표 대표는 애경케미칼이 앞으로도 베트남 야구 발전을 위한 지원을 아끼지 않겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다. 실제로 애경케미칼은 2003년 베트남 동나이에 자회사 AK VINA를 설립한 이후, 현지에서 제품과 기술력의 신뢰를 쌓아왔으며, 최근엔 베트남 사업 확대를 주요 전략으로 삼고 있다.

표 대표는 이번에도 헐크파운데이션을 통해 동남아시안게임(SEA Games) 준비와 베트남 내 야구 보급을 위한 물품 및 후원금을 전달했다. 앞으로도 베트남야구협회(VBSF)와의 지속적인 협력을 약속해주셨다.

이날 자리에서 “베트남 야구 보급 프로젝트에 함께해준 애경케미칼 표경원 대표께 깊이 감사드린다”는 인사와 함께, “한국 야구, 한국 기업의 우수함을 함께 알려나가자”는 뜻을 나누기도 했다.

앞으로도 베트남 국가대표 박효철 감독과 함께 어떤 어려움이 있더라도, 한국 야구의 저력과 가치를 베트남에 전하는 데 최선을 다하겠다. 작은 공 하나에 담긴 열정과 신뢰가, 국경을 넘어 더 많은 이들에게 희망이 되길 바란다.

At the end of April, he was unable to attend the donation delivery ceremony between "Hulk Foundation" and Aekyung Chemical due to his wife's major surgery. Instead, Cho Kyung-won, head of the team, Choi Hong-joon, and team leader Cho Sung-je joined the scene. The delivery ceremony was organized by Pyo Kyung-won, CEO of Aekyung Chemical, with the group's willingness to support the development of Vietnamese baseball.

CEO Pyo Kyung-won is a person who has been close to baseball for a long time with a deep affection for it. Aekyung Chemical has already entered the Vietnamese market and has been continuously supporting with Hulk Foundation to revitalize Vietnamese baseball. In particular, from 2022, they are actively participating in activities to expand the local baseball base.

At the meeting with CEO Pyo and lawyer Lee Chun-soo of Kim & Chang on May 15, various projects were also discussed in the future. At the meeting, CEO Pyo expressed his intention that Aekyung Chemical will continue to provide support for the development of Vietnamese baseball. In fact, since establishing its subsidiary AK VINA in Dongnai, Vietnam in 2003, Aekyung Chemical has built trust in products and technology there, and recently, its main strategy is to expand its business in Vietnam.

Pyo also delivered goods and donations to prepare for the SEA Games and spread baseball in Vietnam through the Hulk Foundation. Pyo promised continued cooperation with the Vietnam Baseball Organization.

At the meeting, he said, "I am deeply grateful to Pyo Kyung-won, CEO of Aekyung Chemical, for his cooperation in the Vietnamese baseball supply project," and shared his intention, "Let's share the excellence of Korean baseball and Korean companies."

In the future, I will do my best to convey the power and value of Korean baseball to Vietnam, no matter what difficulties I face with coach Park Hyo-chul of the Vietnamese national team. I hope the passion and trust in one small ball will be hope for more people across the border.
