지난 11월 18일 사우나 멤버들과 함께 저녁을 했다. 시간이 갈수록 사우나 멤버들과 함께 하는 시간들이 많아 지고 있다. 늘 이야기하지만 이웃과 함께 지내면서 자연스럽게 이웃과 가깝게 지내게 되고 친구도 많이 사귀게 된다. 그 중에서도 사우나 멤버들과의 친분은 형제와도 더 가까울 정도로 두텁게 지내고 있다.

이날 11월 18일 저녁에 사우나 멤버 6명이 한자리에 모여 지나온 인생 이야기 나누다보니 시간 가는줄 모르고 늦은 저녁시간까지 즐겁고 행복한 시간을 보냈다. 저녁 6시부터 시작한 것이 어느새 늦은 밤 10시가 되었다.

이날 모임의 주최는 유기호 대표가 자리를 마련했다. 이날 모임의 주제는 본인이 멋진 오토바이를 사서 사우나 멤버들에게 한턱 냈다. 1차로 고기집에 가서 맛난 고기를 샀다. 사우나 멤버들과 맛나게 저녁을 하는데 옆 테이블에서 손님들이 나를 알아보고 사인과 사진을 찍자며 많은 사람들이 몰려왔다.

옆 테이블 사람들과 함께 동석하며 또다시 즐거운 시간을 보냈다. 2차로 유기호 대표가 맛난 국수를 먹자며 자리를 옮겼다. 국수집에서 만두와 함께 맛나게 먹는데 젊은 학생들이 나를 알아보고 또다시 사인 및 사진을 찍었다. 이 광경을 본 사우나 멤버들이 깜짝 놀란다.

유명하다는 것은 이미 알고 있었지만 '어떻게 젊은 학생들이 감독님을 알아보느냐?'며 놀라고 있다. 너무 신기했던지 사우나 멤버들이 학생들에게 다가가 어떻게 '감독님을 아느냐?' 물어보니 학생들이 '감독님을 너무 잘 알고 있단다' 자기들은 야구를 좋아하고 또 한 친구는 대구 사람이기 때문에 '감독님은 대구의 영웅이며 자기보다 부모님이 감독님을 더 좋아한다'며 이야기 한다.

집으로 걸어가고 있는데 길거리에 붕어빵 팔고 있어 남궁규성 대표가 대뜸 초등학생 2학년 학생과 어머니한테 '너 이만수 감독 알아?' '어머니 이만수 감독 아세요?'며 물어본다. 밤늦은 시간에 황당하게 물어보니 아이 엄마가 자기 보다는 남편이 '이만수 감독님 왕 팬입니다'며 이야기 한다.

남궁규성 대표가 신이 났던지 붕어빵을 아이에게 선물하면서 '건강해야 한다'며 칭찬한다. 쌀쌀한 늦은 밤에 자기 나름 회사의 회장이자 대표들이 신이 났던지 붕어빵 하나씩 손에 들고 먹으며 걸어갈 때는 꼭 타임머신 타고 과거 학생들로 되돌아간 느낌이다.

앞에서도 잠시 언급했지만 사우나 멤버들이 이런 모습을 보면서 더 신기해 한다. 사우나 멤버들은 나와 함께 하는 것을 너무 자랑스럽게 생각한다며 늘 주위 사람들에게 이야기 한다. 특히 이날 남궁규성 대표는 자기 동서한테 전화해 '지금 이만수 감독님과 함께 있다'며 자랑하며 전화를 바꾸어 준다. 더 놀라운 것은 남궁규성 대표가 미국 시카고에 있는 후배에게 전화해 자랑한다.

지난번에도 글을 썼지만 가끔 사우나 멤버들이 지나가는 사람들이나 유니폼을 입고 있는 어린학생들에게 '너희들 이만수 감독 알아?' 질문할 때면 나의 얼굴이 화끈 거릴 때가 한두번이 아니다. 혹 어린아이들이나 주위 사람들에게 나를 모른다고 하면 얼마나 민망하고 얼굴이 화끈 거리는지 모른다.

4차로 다시 아파트 편의집에 와 나이든 대표들이 쌀쌀한 날씨에도 불구하고 아이스크림 하나씩 먹으며 또다시 긴 테이블에 둘러 앉아 즐겁고 행복한 시간을 보냈다. 사우나 멤버들과 함께 지내다보면 모두가 허물없이 지내서 그런지 언제나 집에 늦게 들어갈 때가 많다. 이날도 동네 편의점에서 6명이 둘러 앉아 재미있게 이야기 나누었다.

이날 늦은 저녁시간에 어린아이와 엄마 그리고 식당에서 회사원 직원과 학생들이 나를 알아보고 사인과 사진을 찍었지만 사실 민망할 때가 한두번이 아니다. 현장에서 55년 동안 있었지만 이렇게 편안한 마음으로 주민들과 함께 살아가면서 서로 어울리고 함께 어려움과 즐거움을 서로 나눌 수 있으니 얼마나 행복한지 모른다.

I had dinner with the members of the sauna on November 18th. As time goes by, more and more time is spent with the members of the sauna. As I always say, staying with your neighbors naturally brings you close to them and makes many friends. Among them, the friendship with the members of the sauna is close enough to be closer to your brothers.

On the evening of November 18th, six sauna members gathered together to talk about their lives, and they had a fun and happy time until late evening without knowing the time. It started at 6 p.m. and it became 10 p.m.

CEO Yoo Ki-ho arranged the meeting. The theme of the meeting was to buy a nice motorcycle and treat the sauna members. First, I went to a meat restaurant and bought delicious meat. When I had a delicious dinner with the sauna members, many people came to the table next to me, asking for autographs and photos.

I had a good time with the people at the next table again. In the second round, CEO Yoo Ki-ho moved to eat delicious noodles. Young students recognized me and took autographs and photos again while eating deliciously with dumplings at the noodle restaurant. This scene is surprising to the members of the sauna.

I already knew it was famous, but I was surprised, asking, "How do young students recognize the coach?" It was so amazing that the sauna members approached the students and asked, "Do you know the coach?" and the students said, "I know the coach too well." Since they like baseball and the other friend is from Daegu, "The coach is a hero in Daegu and his parents like the coach more than him."

I'm walking home and selling owl bread on the street. CEO Nam Goong-seong suddenly asks a second-grade elementary school student and his mother, "Do you know director Lee Man-soo?" and "Do you know director Lee Man-soo?" When I asked him absurdly late at night, the child's mother said, "I'm a big fan of director Lee Man-soo."

Nam Goong-seong, the CEO of the company, compliments the child, saying, "You have to be healthy," while presenting bungeoppang to the child, whether he was excited or not. It feels like he has returned to his past students on a time machine when he walks with bungeoppang in his hand on a chilly late night, whether the chairman and representatives of his company were excited.

As mentioned earlier, the sauna members are more amazed by this. Sauna members always tell people around them that they are so proud to be with me. On this day, Nam Goong-seong, the CEO of the sauna, calls Dong-seo and changes the phone, boasting that he is with director Lee Man-soo. What's more surprising is that Nam Goong-seong, the CEO of the sauna, calls a junior in Chicago, the U.S., and brags about it.

I wrote last time, but sometimes when sauna members ask 'Do you know director Lee Man-soo?' to passers-by or young students wearing uniforms, my face gets hot. If you tell children or people around you that you don't know me, you may feel embarrassed and angry.

In the fourth round, the elderly representatives came back to the apartment convenience house and had a pleasant and happy time sitting around a long table eating ice cream one by one despite the chilly weather. When I stay with the sauna members, I often go home late because everyone is safe. On this day, six people sat around at the local convenience store and had fun talking.

In the late evening of this day, children, mothers, and office workers and students recognized me at the restaurant and took autographs and photos, but in fact, it is not once or twice embarrassing. I've been at the site for 55 years, but I don't know how happy I am to be able to live with the residents with such a comfortable mind, mingle with each other, and share difficulties and joy together.
