< 우려를 희망으로 바꿀 수 있다면, 우리들의 꿈은 결코 먼 미래가 아니다 >

2026년 새해가 시작 되자 여기 저기서 기쁜 소식들이 연일 날라오고 있다. 동남아로 내려가 야구를 전파한지 올해가 벌써 12년째가 되다보니 보이지 않았던 작은 씨앗들이 이제 조금씩 자라 작은 나무가 되어가고 있다.

올해 들어와 가장 기쁜 소식을 전해준 사람은 멀리 라오스 루앙프라방에서 열심히 선수들을 지도하고 있는 김한근 선배 밑에서 지도자 수업을 받고 있는 손사랑 코치로부터 연락이 왔다. 손사랑 코치는 혼자 동분서주하며 어떻게 해서라도 루앙프라방에 야구를 전파하고 어린 청소년들에게 꿈과 희망을 전달해주고 싶은 마음에 김한근 선배가 루앙프라방에 들어오기 전에 '싼티팝' 중학교에 야구단을 창단하고 싶었다.

혼자서 동분서주 하며 뛰어 다녔는데 결국 작년 12월달에 '싼티팝' 교장선생님으로부터 허락을 받게 되어 드디어 지난 12월 말부터 김한근 선배와 '수파누옹 국립대학교' 야구선수들이 '싼티팝' 학교로 직접 찾아가 야구를 처음 접해보는 어린선수들에게 야구를 하나씩 가르치게 되었다.

루앙프라방은 손사랑 코치의 열정적인 마음과 야구에 대한 열성으로 인해 하루가 무섭게 야구가 활성화 되고 있다. 거기에 기초부터 하나씩 야구가 무엇이라는 것을 가르치는 김한근 선배가 있어 이들에게 생소하게 보였던 야구가 이제는 너나 할 것 없이 야구를 사랑하게 되는 일도 멀지 않았다.

새해 신년부터 기쁜 소식을 접하게 되어 얼마나 감사한지 모른다. 거기다가 큰 비전을 갖고 함께 동참하는 이윤 대표로 인해 한결 라오스 루앙프라방이 이들 청소년들이나 대학생들에게 희망을 줄 것이라 기대가 된다.

          <중학교에서 야구를 시작하다>

2023년에 처음으로 루앙프라방에 야구가 시작되었습니다. 그리고 2년이 지난 지금 유소년 교육의 필요성을 느끼고 청소년들을 위한 야구 교실이 시작되었습니다.

"싼티팝"이라는 중학교 입니다.

라오스의 학제는 초등학교 5년 중학교 7년으로 구성되어 있습니다. 그래서 저희가 이번에 야구교실을 시작한 학교는 중학교 이지만 총 7학년이 있는 큰 학교 입니다. 학생 수는 총 2,400여명 이고 학교에서 선생님들만 140여명이 되는 큰 학교 입니다.

물론 산악지형이 대부분인 루앙프라방에서 운동장 찾기는 하늘의 별 따기 만큼 어렵습니다. 그런데 루앙프라방에서 유일한 운동장을 가진 중학교가 바로 "싼티팝" 중학교 입니다.

이곳에서 어린이들에게 처음 야구 교실을 갖었습니다.

감사한 것은 지난 2년이라는 시간동안 수파누옹 국립대학교에서 야구를 배웠던 선배 형님들이 특별히 함께 동행해주면서 야구라는 스포츠가 이런거야라는 모범적인 모습을 보여줬습니다.

이렇게 대학생 선수들이 성장해서 누군가에게 야구를 소개를 할 수 있다는 것만으로도 저는 뿌듯하고 감사합니다. 지난 시간 선ㄱ지에서 많은 어려움이 있었지만 그럼에도 불구하고 일하는 하ㄴ님을 찬양 합니다. 앞으로도 계속해서 루앙프라방에서 스포츠를 통한 선ㄱ가 잘 진행 될 수 있도록 기ㄷ와 후원 부탁드립니다.

야구를 배우는 학생들에게 저희가 해줄 수 있는 건 많이 없지만 이들에게 학업도 배우고 건강도 챙기며 운동에 전념할 수 있도록 장학금을 위해 기ㄷ부탁드립니다.

As the new year begins in 2026, good news is flying here and there every day. This year has already been 12 years since baseball was spread to Southeast Asia, small seeds that were not seen are now growing little by little and becoming small trees.

The person who gave the best news this year was Son Sa-rang, who is taking a leadership class under Kim Han-geun, who is coaching the players hard in Luang Prabang, Laos. Coach Son Sa-rang wanted to establish a baseball team at "Santi Pop" Middle School before Kim Han-geun entered Luang Prabang because he wanted to spread baseball to Luang Prabang by himself and deliver dreams and hopes to young teenagers.

He ran around alone, but eventually got permission from the principal of "Santi-Pop" in December last year, and from the end of December, senior Kim Han-geun and baseball players at "Super Junior National University" visited "Santi-Pop" school in person to teach baseball to young players who are new to baseball one by one.

In Luang Prabang, baseball is being activated day by day due to coach Son Sa-rang's passionate heart and enthusiasm for baseball. There is Kim Han-geun, a senior who teaches them what baseball is from the basics, and it is not far from me that baseball, which seemed unfamiliar to them, now loves baseball.

I'm so grateful to hear good news from the New Year. In addition, I'm looking forward to seeing the Luang Prabang in Laos will give hope to these teenagers and college students due to CEO Lee Yun, who participates with a big vision.

                                                                      <Starting baseball in middle school>

In 2023, baseball began in Luang Prabang for the first time. And now, two years later, I feel the need for youth education, and a baseball class for teenagers has begun.

It is a middle school called "Santi Pop."

Laos' interdisciplinary system consists of 5 years of elementary school and 7 years of middle school. So the school we started the baseball class this time is middle school, but it is a big school with a total of 7th graders. The total number of students is 2,400, and the school has 140 teachers.

Finding the playground in Luang Prabang, which is mostly mountainous, is as difficult as picking stars in the sky. However, "Santi-Pop" Middle School is the only middle school in Luang Prabang with a playground.

I had my first baseball class here for children.

Thankfully, my seniors, who learned baseball at Supanuong National University for the past two years, accompanied me in a special way, showing an exemplary way that this is what a sport called baseball is like.

I am proud and grateful that college players have grown up and introduced baseball to someone. I praise God for working despite all the difficulties he had in the last time. Please continue to support us and continue to do so through sports at Luang Prabang.

There is not much we can do for students learning baseball, but please give them a scholarship so that they can learn their studies, take care of their health, and focus on their exercise.
